Cherry Lime Açaí Bowl

By now you’ve likely indulged in plenty of Açaí Bowls, but this recipe has a twist- the addition of cherry and lime! By adding fruits such as cherry and lime to your typical smoothie bowl recipe, you'll end up with a tart and zesty kick. These new flavor sensations pair perfectly with the creamy texture and sweet taste and will leave you feeling refreshed during the warm weather!

Seasonal Summer Ingredients

Cherries are in season during these late Spring and early Summer months. While they are at their peak in late June through August, they are still available in grocery stores in the months leading up. This recipe does use frozen cherries, but you can omit the frozen pre-packaged fruit by freezing your own fresh cherries if needed.

While they are available year round, limes hit their peak between Spring and Summer as well. These citrus fruits add a sour tang to the sweet cherries so they compliment each other well. If you don't want to add fresh lime to this recipe, lime juice is a great substitution.

Top Off Your Acai Bowl Recipe

Adding chocolate chips and granola to your bowls will give them a satisfying crunch. By adding a nut butter topping, like peanut or almond butter, will smooth out the taste as well. These three ingredients will also balance out the tangy flavors with familiar tastes.

If you are allergic to nuts, you can leave out the nut butter topping and change it for another good source of protein.

Alternative options for toppings could include chia seeds, fresh cherries, raspberries, and coconut. These flavors will also complement the bowl by adding an extra layer of tropical taste.

Pro Tips for Blending your Açaí Bowl

Using a milk alternative will ensure that this recipe is not only creamy, but also dairy-free. Options such as oat milk or coconut milk are great when creating your açaí bowl base. If you prefer dairy in your diet, using dairy milk is fine as well.

Prefer your Açaí bowls to be thicker? Use frozen banana instead of fresh to thicken up the texture.

This recipe will also double nicely if you're looking to make more than one to share the delicious flavors with a friend.

Now let’s blend, top, and indulge in this Cherry Lime Açaí Bowl to awaken your taste buds and take on the day!
