 Nutrition: New Year's Diets
This
January over 80% of Americans will make New Year's resolutions to
improve thier health and diet but over a third don’t keep them
past the
first month. Running 20 miles a day or going 100% carb or fat
free is
unrealistic and downright torture on your body. An organic açai
smoothie is a simple, excellent way to start your day or
as a healthy lunch. Because açai is rich in antioxidants,
healthy fats and fiber, it fills you up without weighing you down and
makes the ultimate base for any smoothie. Try mixing in kiefer, hemp protein powder and wheat grass powder. The combinations are limitless, delicious and energizing. Look for more recipes on sambazon.com and cheers to a healthy and prosperous 2006.

 Sambazon Athlete: Link Lindquist
Link
is now 71 years young, and when he’s not training for a 100-miler, he
runs 20 miles a week on local trails, and jumps rope and does 30
pull-ups a day. Recently, he started cycling, and now also rides 200
miles a week. The biking is going to help me achieve my lifetime goal: to run the Western
States when I’m 100, says Lindquist.
"Since I starting consuming acai I am getting stronger and better at riding".
He is set to participate in the Senior Olympics next year and is also going to
ride a stage at the Tour de France.
Link fills his sport bottle with an Açai Protein smoothie.

Zona Sul is the area in Rio where Açaí
became popular with the local surfers, jiu jitsu fighters and
capoeiristas in the mid to late 90's. The traditional Rio-Bowl
became the ultimate way to start the day of fuel up before a
workout. Word travels fast and today Açaí is becoming a dietary
staple for health conscious people all over the planet
