Employee Profile: Jen Stroup
Jen Stroup joined us last spring as our Los Angeles area sales manager after discovering Sambazon while working in marketing for Whole
Foods Markets. As sales manager for one of our largest territories, Jen is our face in managing many important retail relationships. She works
with
buyers and produce managers to make sure our products are on the shelf and looking great, visits hundreds of stores each week to individually
maximize
our presence as well as manages many area in-store demonstrations and consumer events. With LA's notorious reputation for car culture, Jen often
spends much of her day behind the wheel but never fails to keep us entertained with
her various images and impressions from her travels! Besides putting her cultural anthropology degree to use,
music is another passion of Jen's -- especially reggae
-- and she tries to see as much live music as she can. Jen tells us she loves working at Sambazon because of great co-workers and an amazing product
as well as a mission she can believe in --

Another milestone on our journey: Sambazon was just featured on "The Today
Show" in a nice segment about the new superfoods! Also included in the segment were our Power Foods friends from Guayaki Yerba Maté and Dagoba Chocolate. Matt Lauer tried Sambazon on air and proclaimed "Hey, that's really

Jeremy Lafreniere, a teacher in the Royce Gracie jiu-jitsu Network,
shared this incredible testimony with us:
"...My Dad suffered a heart attack nearly a decade ago, had triple
bipass surgery, and then suffered damage to his circulatory system after taking statins (cholesterol reducing medications.) ...He has been on a
regimen of aspirin ever since he stopped taking the statins because it helps with his circulation, and thins his blood so that a future heart attack
is less likely. He has also had to give up most of the walking that he used to do as a result of the circulation issues he now has. After
trying the Acai at my house, without any prior knowledge about the berry, beyond what I told him (that it was reasonably healthy and tastes like ice
cream) he has had a health transformation. It seems to have an amazing effect clearing up his circulation - better than what the aspirin does. He
walks a lot more now, isn't awaked at night by the swelling, itching and numbness that goes along with the damage to his circulation incurred from
taking the statins. Also, he has suffered from a life long battle with eczema, and that has cleared up as well...."
