Athletes of the Month:

Tristan and Nic Puehse

Eight year old twins Tristan and Nic Puehse are new skaters for Team Sambazon.  The brothers, who began skating just after their 6th birthday,   have a natural athletic ability and toughness, combined with a 'no-fear'attitude, that make them serious competitors.   After only two months of competitive skating, Nic won gold and Tristan silver at the California State Games in San Diego.  And last month the boys did some tricks on the Ellen DeGeneres Show!  To watch them in action please click here. Their goals are to keep learning new tricks and launch the Mega Ramp by their 10th birthday! We'll keep fueling them with Sambazon and will watch what the future brings for these dynamic brothers!

Recipe of the Month:  SambaNog!

Much to our delight an email landed in our MySpace Recipe of the Month contest from seasonal favorite Cousin Eddie. Treat holiday enthusiasts to the most unique recipe we have seen so far. We didn't believe it either until we tasted it.

1 smoothie pack Original or Pure Açaí

1/2 organic banana

4 oz. of Silk Soynog 

Blend and top with sliced banana and a dash of nutmeg and serve in Moose Mugs

Purple Smile Club

Employee Profile:  Henry Winarta

Henry is our supply chain manager where he's very much a 'rock steady' foundation in Sambazon operations.  Henry is involved in many areas but is essentially responsible for making sure we don't run out of any inventory (and don't blame him for the smoothie pack shortages this summer- that was a drought in the Amazon).  He's also makes sure we have all raw materials (bananas, mangos, etc) available in time for production.  As is typical for a small company, Henry is involved in a lot of areas such as inbound and outbound freight, purchasing, as well as inhouse production and planning.  Henry  grew up in Indonesia, went to college in New Zealand where he met his wife Febe.  He began his career in Singapore but has been living in the U.S. for the past six years.  Besides biking, basketball and playing Sudoku, he loves  traveling and seeing different parts of the world and culture (19 different countries and counting....but not Brasil yet - and he's looking forward to that!).  Henry tells us he enjoys the dyanmic environment and the late night warehouse parties the most -- We agree and are so fortunate to work with a great reliable team player like Henry.
