Tribal Tour
The Tribal Tour is underway - bringing the purple
berry to festival goers across the country. This
month we
traveled to Harmony Fest, Live Oak Fest , and Wakarusa as well as the mega fest Bonnaroo
in Tennessee. Bonnaroo featured a stacked line up from Black
Keys, The White Stripes, Tool, Kings of Leon, Wilco and The
Police. For

Athlete Profile: Tennessee Titans
Football
season is soon upon us and the Titans wanted to get the low down on why
Acai was the best thing they could eat while training so we stopped by
to give them a little Acai 101. The
Titans have been using our smoothie packs at their training table for
the
last
year, and now have all been turned out to our bottled smoothie line.
Players, Coaches and Training Staff were
all enjoying the smoothiness.

Recipe Contest

Bacon Seared Scallops on a Wasibe Peruvian Purple
Potatoe
Pancake with AcaiBlueberry Jalapeño Jam
3 pounds purple potatoes- peeled, cut in half
1 tbls wasibi
2 cans unsweetened coconut milk
water to cover
1/2 pound smoked bacon - cook bacon to render fat discard bacon or crumble
for garnish
4 U-10 scallops
2- packs of Sambazon Pure Acai
2 bottles of Sambazon Antioxidant Trinity juice or 8 oz organic blueberry juice
½ cup RAW sugar or sugarcane bring to a boil, reduce to simmer
2- jalapenos cut in half
Cook down by half puree add berries (unsweetened frozen work too)
Reduce until sauce sticks to a spoon
Let the Acai/ blueberry reduction cool
Becomes a natural jam
Cook potatoes with wasibi and coconut, mash, form into pancakes (1 inch
around)
Pan fry in the bacon fat
Remove pancakes, add scallops (season with salt and pepper) brown both side
well (finish and 300 degree oven if not cooked through)
Place pancake on plate, place scallop on top of pancake, top with Acai/
blueberry jam.
Serves 4 for dinner. Perfect with Tobin James Cellars Blue Moon Syrah

The Sambazon Video
We sometimes are asked if we chose Açai or if Açai chose us......we
believe the later. Seems like just yesterday we were walking into
juice bars trying to sell the owners on the little purple berry from
the Amazon. It's been 7 years now and Açai is turning up
everywhere...funny how fast time flies when you're having fun. Check

Employee - Ashley Hoffa, Operations
Assistant
Ashley is the first friendly voice that most hear when calling
Sambazon. As operations assistant, she's responsible for not only
providing
exceptional customer service, but a range of duties that include
processing incoming orders, working with our distribution and storage
facilities,
and handling several reporting functions. Ashley excels wearing the
many hats that comes with working in a small, fast growing
company. She is
a SoCal native and enjoys the outdoors and being active --running by
the beach, swimming and taking kickboxing/muay thai classes.
Ashley tells
us she loves Sambazon's atmosphere and the working relationship with
all coworkers and adds, "Sambazon is a true success story and testament
