Pure Açaí Smoothie Packs
Based on the success of our first and best selling consumer product,
"Original Acai" smoothie packs, we launched Sambazon "Pure Acai" back

2004. Pure Açaí is 100 grams of frozen pure unsweetened
organic acai pulp and contains no sugar or other sweeteners.
Açaí is naturally very low in sugar so -- similar to cocoa --- with
just a touch of sweetening you bring out the amazing flavor. You can
sweeten the packs to taste by blending with organic honey, sugar,
natural sugar substitute or blending with something like yogurt,
soymilk, flavored
hemp milk or fruit juice. We know a few chefs who are using them

Tribal Tour Update
On the East Coast, Sambazon's Tribal Tour -- our bicoastal tour journeying to top music fests around the country - was at the 2nd annual Virgin Music
Festival in Baltimore earlier this month. Sambazon was part of the special "Green Spot" area of
the festival in which Sir Richard Branson led a press conference around the issue of Global Warming. Branson and special guest Daryl Hannah came to
the "Green Spot" where they both blended Sambazon acai smoothies on bike-powered blenders!!
Coming up on the event schedule we have mega-fests at Austin City
Limits in
Austin , TX and Bumbershoot in Seattle, WA and we're also excited to be
representing at Farm Aid on Randall's Island in NYC on Sept 9th!

Athlete Profile: Rob Machado
Rob has been a fan since we first brought açai to the US back in
2000. He's one of the coolest guys you'll ever meet,
environmentally conscious (w/ his own organic lines coming out w/ Reef
and Hurley), a dedicated father, musician and arguably the most
stylish surfer on the planet.
If you get a chance to see "Surf's
Up" this summer Rob (along w/ good friend Kelly Slater) got casted as
one of the animated penguins and helped the filmakers make sure the
animation was all legit.
We're proud to
have him as one of
our brand ambassadors. Rob claims Sambazon products "are the real deal" and if
you know Rob you know that's saying alot. Besides
winning the Pipe Masters and multiple US Opens, last month he led Team
USA in in the X-games where they won the gold medal- Congrats!
Rob loves to blend up bowls for his girls at home and his favorite
smoothie is the Supergeens Revolution.

Employee of the Month: Miguel Jorge Hauat
Miguel is the Industrial Director for Sambazon Brazil. Based in the equatorial city of Macapá in the northern Brazilian state of
Amapá where Sambazon's manufacturing facility is located, Miguel is responsible for the integrity of the supply chain, engineering and quality
control to make Sambazon the world's best açai!
Prior to joining us, Miguel accomplished a very successful background in operations and
engineering (aerospace, mechanical and agriculture) and completed his degree at the University of Arizona. Miguel has a lovely wife Marilia who is a
grade school principal and they have two sons, Ibrahim and Miguel. Miguel enjoys repairing and collecting old clocks as a hobby and is always
wonderful and gracious host for Sambazon friends and family visiting the Amazon. Miguel tells us that "among the good points of working with
Sambazon is the opportunity to do the right thing socially and environmentally for the Amazon. Sambazon takes action on social obligations and
adds value to the local people. Sambazon also generates new means of income and promotes sustainability and protection of fauna and flora." He
adds that all this is "on top of making the best acai ever!"
