Tribal Tour Update
Sambazon has had a busy summer and fall, bringing acai to the top events around the
country. The bicoastal Tour winded up its 50 summer
festival schedule with the ever- popular Hardly Strictly
Bluegrass-
a free event attended by over 300,000 people in San Francisco's
Golden Gate Park. We also traveled to Atlanta for "The
Echo Project" - a fundraiser for Chattahoochee River clean up that
featured great performance from The Killers, Michael Frianti,
Thievery
Corporation, Flaming Lips, The Roots and Phil Lesch and Friends. Greenfest in Washington DC was east coast's best Greenfest yet - and we're looking forward to being up in the Bay Area for Greenfest in a couple weeks - the biggest party with a
purpose!

Trista on the cover of US Weekly
We
just got word that our friend Trista Sutter was featured on the cover
of the new US Weekly with a story about
her "Lose the Baby Weight Diet". She's been a big fan of our
smoothies for a long time and US included her Sambazon Smoothie as part
of her diet.

Employee Profile: Bruce Peasland
Bruce Peasland
- our Director of Finance and Controller - brings 35 years of financial
experience to us (he eats acai every day - keeps him young!).
Bruce is responsible for all internal and external financial reporting
for all of
Sambazon - including US, Brasil and Europe. He directs a great staff
that assists with accounting transactions and also is responsible for
internal
legal review. Family is #1 to Bruce and he's actively part of his
kids' - and new granddaughter's - lives.
Bruce is not
your standard "Bean Counter"; he drives some of the coolest rides in
the
Sambazon parking lot and is involved in USC football, Sailing, Snow
Skiing and most recently - biking (Harley style). Bruce says that
what he
loves most about Sambazon is "The entrepreneurial spirit of growing
this exciting company to become a recognized brand in the global
marketplace. Tied to this, I am in awe of the diverse and
talented employee team we have to help us accomplish our
mission."

In the News
This past month we were included in a great story in "Alternative Medicine" magazine about Fair Trade companies and products that also featured our
friends at Guayaki Yerba Mate and the
reforestation efforts they are doing in the Amazon Rainforest. The Food Network also included us in a segment on "Power Booster" products in
their "Secret Life Of..." show. And the editors at Vegetarian Voice were loving our delicious açaí sorbet line - available at Whole
Foods Market and natural product stores nationwide.

individual taste)
3 Heaping Teaspoons of Dagoba's Xocolatl Hot Chocolate Mix (the one with chilies & cinnamon).
Blend thick with a little bit of cold coffee.

Beyond the Pink Ribbon: Knowledge is the Key to
Prevention
Last week, our friends at Pangea Organics
hosted a "Beyond the Pink Ribbon" fundraising event at the well known abc carpet & home in New York to increase knowledge about breast cancer
prevention. With speakers such renowned holistic oncologist, Mitchell L. Gaynor, M.D., great music and organic h'oeuvres and cocktails flowing, it
was a very special evening for all. Sambazon was involved as one of the co-sponsors and mini açaí sorbet cones were served as
dessert. One hundred percent of all ticket sales benefited the Breast Cancer Fund's Climb Against the Odds '08.
