Product News: Improvements to Sambazon Açaí Smoothies &
Juices
We're excited to announce that we've given our bottles a facelift with a bright new take on
our original design and most importantly we've boosted the nutritional benefits - but the product has the same great taste you've always
enjoyed.
Keeping your health top of mind, each smoothie now has at least 20% less calories and fat but still the same all-natural ingredients and high level
of nutrition. Each juice now has increased vitamin C to super-boost your immunity. On the new packaging, you'll notice that we've changed
our serving size from 10.5oz to 8oz, a more standardized serving size for retail beverages, making it easier to compare our nutritional information
to
other retail beverages. Each Sambazon Juice and Smoothie is packed with at least 120 antioxidant-rich Açaí berries, which is much
more
than any other Açaí beverage out there.

Events: Coachella & More!
We finished the end of April with a large presence at the Coachella Music Festival, bringing
our bottles to
every corner of the event stoking out hard core music fans and celebrities alike. We even got a nice visit from Victoria's Secret model
Alessandra
Ambrosio. Like many pregnant moms she couldn't get enough Açaí!
This month we've traveled to the La Jolla 1/2 Marathon and the Kid's Fitness Challenge, and multiple surf contests in southern California. We also
brought our new energy drink to a massive Scion United Owner Event in Nevada and sampled our products to consumers at Greenfest Chicago in Illinois
and much more. In total, we estimate we've been able to personally give bottles to over 20,000 people this past month, many who haven't had the
chance
to taste Açaí before. We're continuing our grass roots approach and we're looking forward to an even busier month of June!

Team: Shayne and Shannon McIntyre
Pro surfers Shayne and Shannon make up quite the surfing and traveling duo. Shayne grew
up
traveling with his parents who were on a constant search for untouched waves. He's keeping this dream alive with wife, artist, surfer, and
momma
Shannon. Together they have traveled the world with their 3 and a half year old son Banyan, and now baby daughter Coral while producing the
Fuel TV
show, "On Surfari" - it's like a culturally/historically/politically
educational
show with a lot of surfing involved... they throw in some food & interaction, a joke or two, and sometimes get all personal.
During their travels
they've made it to Brazil, the source of Açaí. In fact, Shayne's favorite way to eat Açaí he says is "sitting at a table on
the beach in Brazil, hot and sunny, 11am ish, watching offshore a-frame barrels spitting with only girls out surfing (wife included)." But when
he's
not on a sunny Brazilian beach, all he eats is Sambazon.

This month, Sambazon was featured by the Los Angeles Newspaper Group's
8 local newspapers as "leading the pack" in the Açaí market.

2 packets PURE Açaí
Blackberries
Strawberries
Banana
Kale or spinach
Ground flaxseed
Rice milk
Cranberry pomegranate juice
Either blend it thick, scoop into a bowl and top with granola or make it as a smoothie.

Employee of the Month: Cameron Faist
Cameron Faist is technically our event coordinator but he does so much more than that.
A
recent graduate from Cal State Marcos, Cameron comes with some solid experience coordinating the YMCA surf series events. Now at Sambazon he's
in
charge of managing all of the events we do, and the sponsorships and donations we give.
In his free time, he's an avid surfer and snowboarder and a pretty amazing photographer - his passion is action sports photography. And he's
now
addicted to Açaí too and sometimes he shares his concoctions with us. He makes a really good smoothie with 2 original packs, 1 cup of
fresh strawberries, 1 cup of mango, apple juice, half banana, blended to perfection!
Beyond the perks of the job, Cameron says "my favorite thing about Sambazon is that my work has a purpose. Knowing that all I do contributes to
conserving the Amazon is a pretty cool feeling."
