A Sambafied Dew Tour
Last weekend, Bob Burquist kicked off the Dew Tour with a stellar 3rd place performance and
gave Sambazon some love too! Bob's now decked out in all Sambazon gear, purple helmet and all. Bob isn't the only one that is stoked on Sambazon
Açaí though, we've heard that all of the Dew Tour athletes and staff specifically request our products be made available in the athlete
lounge every year. Wow, glad they know where to get the good stuff. So check in for the next destination - Cleveland, July 17-20th - and see Bob Burnquist and other Sambazon

Events: Mundials, Jiu Jitsu World Championships
June marked the annual Mundials - the most prestigious jiu jitsu competition in the United
States. The event spanned four consecutive days filled with world class fighting and thousands of excited spectators.
And since it was such a big deal, the Sambazon crew blew it up with an "Açaí Garden", a sectioned-off café setting for everyone to
hang out in during matches with Capoeira music and the whole nine yards. Athletes and spectators alike lined up for Sambazon Açaí
bowls and cans of Amazon Energy all weekend long.

Team: Dean Randazzo
Dean Randazzo, New Jersey's most successful professional surfer, was stricken with cancer in
2001. He was diagnosed with Hodgkins Lymphoma and has been battling the disease ever since. With the help of friends and family, the Dean Randazzo Cancer Foundation was created in 2001 to raise
money for research, and financially and emotionally support individuals diagnosed with cancer.
During radiation, chemo and stem cell treatments Dean continued to surf to maintain a positive state of mind and physical stamina. He recalls that
"during my first stem cell transplant I was very sick and nauseated I couldn't eat barely anything... You are so extremely depleted from all of the
treatments and lack of nutrition and food intake; the Sambazon Açaí drinks were vital to my nutrition while undergoing this treatment and
also for recovery."
Stem cell treatment is one of the most physically and emotionally draining procedures for a body to undergo - Dean tells us that Sambazon
Açaí was the only food he could keep down, and after his latest procedure, Dean's stem cells kicked in quickly and his blood counts have

1 part vodka, 2 parts Amazon Energy and a squeeze of lime over ice.
The Double Dose (of anti-oxidants):
Lisa Doughty, California Café Restaurant & Bar Manager, emailed us last month with the favorite drink of the house.
Infuse Stoli Bluberi vodka with original Açaí packs and some crushed blueberries.
2 ounces of the infusion
1/4 ounce of cointreau
a dash a fresh lemonade
Shake and strain into a chilled martini glass and garnish with fresh blueberries.
Lisa says, "we sell lots of them. When people ask what is Açaí, we tell them all about the nutritive properties and that a portion of the
proceeds from buying your product goes toward protecting the Brazilian Rainforest. Here in the Bay Area of California, this is a very popular

Employee of the Month: Anne Doyle
Anne Doyle is our all-star staff accountant. Even though Anne's a SoCal local (grew up
in LA and earned a business degree in San Diego and LA), she's a huge Patriots fan. In her time away from the office, she enjoys watching NFL,
bowling and boxing on her WII, entertaining friends, cooking with her husband, gardening and traveling.
At Sambazon, Anne works to thoroughly process all invoices and expenses and makes sure everyone is happy and paid. We're all pretty happy here,
so she's doing great! Anne says her favorite thing about Sambazon is "working for a company with a purpose. Since I started working here last year, I
feel I've made a difference, it wasn't hard after all, working with a great team."
