Summer Festivals
This past month has been busy with summer music festivals nearly every weekend! Starting off with Chicago's Lallapalooza, Sambazon stood out in the
Whole Foods' aisle, passing out our best selling açaí sorbet to the masses. At All Points West in Jersey City, Sambazon fed thousands of
hungry music heads with Sambazon Açaí sorbet bowls. And most recently at Vfest in Baltimore, Sambazon set up camp in the eco suite
featuring
energy producing bicycles linked to blenders so that festivalgoers could peddle power their smoothies to perfection. KT Tunstall even jumped on a
bicycle to make her own Sambazon açaí smoothie!

Event: X Games 14
This month, the 14th annual summer X Games featured some of the most insane performances by the top athletes in action sports. Behind the scenes,
Sambazon kept all of the athletes fueled with Açaí bowls and smoothies in the Standard Hotel, Staples Center and Home Depot athletes'
lounges.
In the spotlight, this year was a major step for Sambazon as well, as two of the prized gold medals went to two incredible athletes wearing the
purple helmet and fueled by Amazon Energy. Bob Burnquist turned heads with a "technically astounding and perfectly executed" run on the mega ramp
according to ESPN.com. And Kevin Johnson, coming in as the underdog in the first ever competition of Speed and Style at X Games, showed his true
golden colors with a spectacular performance on the course.
It was absolutely a ground breaking X Games!

Team: Kevin Johnson, Team Faith
Kevin Johnson, Team Faith rider and Sambazon Ambassador, comes from a proud motocross family - his parents are acclaimed with owning the oldest
Yamaha dealership in America located in his hometown of Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Kevin has been racing alongside his older brother Keith in Arena Cross and Super Cross for years and you may have seen him flying through the air in
the Arena Cross halftime jump shows.
This year at X Games 14, Kevin donned the Sambazon purple helmet for the first time. Coming in as the underdog in the newest motocross event at X
Games, Speed and Style - which combines motocross speed and freestyle skills - Kevin completely blew past the competition!
Congratulations on the gold, Kevin!

Create Positive Change: Sea Shepard Conservation Society
Think oceans - stories of illegal whaling, shark fining, and poaching shock us all, but are often seen as issues not really in our back yard.
Well, the Sea Shepard Conservation Society has taken matters into their own hands and earned the title of "badass" - to uphold international
environmental and conservation law they don't just talk about it, they chase down whaling boats, tow others into port for arrest and work with
governments around the world to protect the ecology of our seas that are so very crucial our future. Now that's a worthy cause.
Learn more about the Sea Shepherd Conservation society and how to show your support at www.seashepherd.org.

Employee of the Month:
Dan Barnes
Dan Barnes joined Sambazon earlier this year to become the Southeast Grocery Manager. He has a long background in beverage sales and distribution and
his expertise shows as large markets in the Southeastern US continue to expand and increase in sales.
Beyond work Dan loves to travel and actually met his wife in Peru on a train from Cuzco to Puno. They have already started traveling with their
4-year old and are looking forward to taking her to Australia, New Zealand, China and Russia some day. She's a lucky kid!
Dan tells us he was first "drawn to Sambazon after seeing the feature on 'Get Fresh with Sara Snow' on TV. I saw that piece and thought, this
company
and these people are proving that you can be successful in business while doing good for others and for the planet, and I knew I needed to be a part
of it. Now I know that what I do helps preserve the Amazon Rainforest and contributes to the quality of life for the people living there, and
I'm
offering people here in the US healthy, organic alternatives. That's a great feeling."
Thanks Dan, we are so lucky to have you on the team!

Sambazon is
the largest vertically integrated supplier and marketer of Açaí
products, controlling every step of the manufacturing process to ensure
sustainable and organic origin of the fruit as well as the highest
level of
quality, nutrition and taste.
Zona Sul is the area in Rio where Açaí became popular with the local
surfers, jiu jitsu fighters and capoeristas in the mid to late 90's.
The traditional Rio-Bowl became the ultimate way to start the day by
fueling up before a workout. Word travels fast and today Açaí is
becoming a dietary staple for health conscious people all over the
planet.
