Event: Sustainable Amazon Partnership
At the heart of our company is the Sustainable Amazon Partnership (SAP). Sambazon founded the SAP in 2003 a public and private collaboration to
promote lasting sustainable management of the Brazilian Amazon Rainforest.
This month, we brought the SAP into the lime light with a a social gathering of partners and press at NYC's famed GoldBar.
Between the Sambazon team and our awesome partners Tarte and VeeV, we drew quite the crowd. We were able to reach the nation's top editors
and personally introduce them to the critical issues we're addressing and the positive work we've done so far.
The big announcement is to date, the SAP has created a positive economic exchange for over 1,000 local family farmers, secured sustainable
development through environmental stewardship on over 1.7 million acres of agro-forestry farms, and our biosocial indicators continue to show that
wild harvesting of Açaí has a very positive contribution to social, environmental and economic conditions. We've invested over $210,000
into sustainability initiatives and there's so much more in the works! Not bad for a few companies and organizations that really care about their
footprint in this world, right?

Hans Rey is a multiple Trials National and World Champion. In fact, he's one of the pioneers of Trials and Extreme Mountain Biking. Through his
spectacular mountain bike trials shows and adventures, Hans has made himself a name far beyond the mountain bike scene. His skills and image are
constantly opening the doors to media coverage all over the world; "No Way" Rey has been demonstrating his talents in over 60 countries.

1 banana
1 cup cantaloupe
1 packet frozen pure Açaí
2 cups frozen strawberries
1 cup frozen blueberries
3/4 cup pomegranate juice

 Employee of the Month: Christa Angelo
Christa is our National Demo Coordinator and is responsible for managing all of the demos that take place in conventional and natural grocery stores
in order to help generate more awareness of the Sambazon brand and achieve sales.
An avid yoga practitioner (she even teaches right around the corner from our office!), Christa loves to travel, run on the beach, skate, hang out
with friends, and go to outdoor events and festivals... and when the weather gets cooler she likes to play in the kitchen more, make soup, bake and
read - we always love it when she brings us her yummy baked creations!
Christa, East Coast born and raised, moved to California last year after a career in human relations and then as a yoga teacher because she says, she
values "the dynamic & creative work environment, great friendships and family like atmosphere of Sambazon. I love how everyone brings their own
individuality to the team. But at the most basic level, I'm grateful to be part of a conscious company with values that align with my own...
creating
positive change for individuals, families and the planet!"
