Açaí Scams Revisited:
We wanted to take this space to inform you about prevalent scams circulating the web and enlist your help in spreading the word and making sure that
our family and friends don't get caught up in the mess.
The Scam: FREE TRIAL of açaí supplements that tout weight loss and cleansing benefits. Many ads mention mention top names like Dr. Oz,
Oprah and Rachael Ray. The trial is free but you submit your credit card information to pay for shipping, and are automatically enrolled in monthly
charges with no easy way to get out. The worst part of the scam is that they misrepresent acai's amazing health benefits. Acai is a powerful
antioxidant that has robust nutritional benefits. Along with a healthy, active lifestyle, açaí can do much more than just help you lose
weight.
Be assured that Sambazon has taken legal action against companies that falsely advertise and commit credit card fraud. So don't be fooled by the
imposters -- unless it has the Sambazon logo, it's not the purest and most nutritious organic Açaí available. Also a word to the wise on
internet shopping, never give your credit card to on-line companies that do not have a proven track record, especially when they are doing on-line
advertising with "free trials".

Event: Art Basel
Internationally acclaimed, Art Basel Miami draws thousands to Miami's South Beach, downtown and Midtown every year to experience the latest and
greatest in contemporary art. In the heart of Miami's newly revamped midtown, Sambazon put on one of the best shows in town. Partnering with Sushi
Samba, Sambazon was able to take part in their annual Ginza Tropicalia showcase. Inspired by the culture of the Brasilian streets, the space featured
graffiti
artists from Brasil and Japan and a custom skate ramp we commissioned.
As the doors opened to this eclectic space, guests were greeted by Sambazon's sampling table, and with mini bowls of Sambazon açaí in hand,
they meandered around the space admiring huge walls and an entire skate ramp covered with newly spray painted art.
Each night as Sambazon's professional line up of skate boarders (who proudly flaunted the Sambazon t-shirts and sipped down energy drinks and juices
throughout their show) took to the ramp, the crowd flooded in for an intimate skate show.

Zdeno Chara
We are honored to welcome Zdeno Chara, Captain of the Boston Bruins, to the Sambazon team. Ever since his teammate Andrew Ference got hooked on the
purple berry, everyone from the Boston Bruins started to take interest, especially Zdeno - or Zee as we all call him.
Zee tells us that "no matter if its in the morning lunch or evening I drink acai anytime. I like to have it as a snack after breakfast or lunch or
simply make it as a desert before I go to bed. I feel that my body is functioning better when I have acai."
Zee is one of the top defensemen in the league, not an easy accomplishment. A two time nominee for the Norris Trophy, Zee has also played in many
All-Star Games and also won the hardest shot in 2007 and 2008 - his fastest shot being a stunning 103.1 mph. With 4 goals already in the season, get
ready to see some more spectacular performances by this now Sambazon Açaí fueled athlete.

 Employee of the Month: Elizabeth Lombardi
Elizabeth Lombardi is our incredible director of product marketing. Originally from Northern California, she comes to us with an expansive background
in product marketing. She graduated with an MBA from UC Berkeley's Haas Business School and also spent several years at Clif Bar building the Luna
brand.
On the weekends, she's an avid mountain biker and runner, and loves spending time with her husband and dog, Bella. Like the rest of us, she's become
addicted to açaí with a regular morning bowl and sometimes an afternoon Amazon Energy as well!
Elizabeth tells us that what she loves "about Sambazon is that everything we do is all about creating the best tasting, highest quality acai products
on the market; all while having fun, spreading the love and sustaining the Amazon Rainforest.
