EVENT /// Jungle Love Launch Parties




To introduce Jungle Love properly, we had to start with a couple rockin parties on the east and west coasts. Last week, we brought the new drink to NYC for a launch party at Sushi Samba with our SAP partners. This week, we brought Jungle Love to Winston's Bar in Hollywood, just in time for Earth Day when we're all felling ready to spread the love. We listened to the best tunes by DJ Garth Trinidad, poured cocktails with VeeV and Sambazon, gave away gift bags by Tarte cosmetics. We learned that not only is Jungle Love delicious on it's own, it makes some great cocktails - just add vodka and a squeeze of lime!

In celebration of our mother earth, we put together a stellar lineup of eco friendly events centered around Earth Day, in a continuing effort to bring awareness to our planet, and spread messages of sustainability and healthy living. ATHLETE PROFILE /// Joe Aaron




Joe Motion, as we know him, is a local surfer, shaper, artist, filmmaker and actor/model, who's made a name for himself as an explosive newcomer to the longboard scene. Only 18, his accomplishments include 2x Champion Nalu Surf Meet Men's Division (Japan), 4th on the ASP Pro Longboard Tour (2007), youngest competitor in the 2007 ASP World Contest: Anglet, France, and youngest surfer to make the cover of
Longboard Magazine.

Joe lives right down the street from Sambazon headquarters, and has picked up the lifestyle of eating
açaí bowls everyday, blending smoothie packs with fruit he picks from his backyard.

RECIPES /// Da Surfer Bowl


Christian submitted possibly the best bowl recipe we've seen so far. Although Christian's from Hawaii he's currently at school at the University of Notre Dame and he's brought his açaí with him. In fact, Christian set up a makeshift smoothie bar in his dorm room and makes Sambazon açaí bowls for himself and his friends every day. Check out his favorite recipe and read his story on our blog.



Blend: blend until thick
2  Smoothie Packs - Original Açaí
8 oz. Vita Coco 100% Coconut Water

Hand Mix: stir the berries whole into the blended acai while in the blender
1/2 cup of Blueberries (frozen)
1/2 cup of Blackberries (frozen)
1/4 cup of Goji berries (usually dried)

Layering the Bowl: place on bottom for crunchy goodness and surprise
1/2 cup of Nature's Path Hemp Granola
-then pour the acai mix from blender

Topping the Bowl: fresh cut fruits and other amazing stuff
1 banana
1 pineapple
1 strawberry
1 tbsp. Manitoba's Shelled Hemp Seeds
1 oz. Madhava Raw Agave Nectar
1 tbsp. of Bee Pollen

CREATE POSITIVE CHANGE /// Sustainable Amazon Partnership

Founded in 2003 by Sambazon, the Sustainable Amazon Partnership (SAP) has developed a host of programs in conjunction with the Brazil Foundation and Peabiru, including the following new programs that we plan to implement in the next twelve months.

The Amazon Wild Honey Project will add to the income diversification and entrepreneurial capacity of açaí farming communities.

The Açaí Seed Project will equip the local high school to process açaí seeds for jewelry, which will then be used by womens' co-ops to continue making jewelry for sale. And Project Cumaú will teach local children to become environmental stewards for the surrounding rainforest lands.

Sambazon Employee Allison Santley

Allison is the newest addition to the team. She takes over as assistant product manager, which means she works with product development, analyzing sales data, and marketing. She comes to us with 15 years experience at Action Sports Retailer Trade Expo, where she worked closely with the industries top brands in shaping their trade presence, launching new products and showcasing films.

When she's out of the office she loves making memories with her family, traveling to faraway places and volunteering time to Generation Rescue, a charity that mentors families in recovering their children from Autism.

Allison tells us, she loves "working alongside people with so much knowledge and passion for making the best products on the market while sustaining the Amazon Rainforest." Like the rest of us, she's now addicted to Pure Fuzion bowls and an afternoon Jungle Love energy drink.
