Q and A will be a new section to the newsletter that highlights standout inquiries from customers that we receive each month.
From Wayne: My favorite açaí products were the chocolate soy protein smoothies. What happened to those and will you be
bringing them back? They were a perfect recovery drink after long runs.
Response: Thanks for contacting us! Sorry to break it to you but we discontinued the Protein Warrior Smoothies a couple years ago.
We loved them too! They just weren't selling well enough. Hopefully one day we'll be able to bring them back,
they were probably just a little ahead of their time.

EVENT /// Summer X Games
This year's Summer X Games showcased the latest in technical moves in action sports.
As in all of the world's top action sports competitions, we tirelessly wait to see Sambazon's athletes take the podium. This year, Bob Burnquist,
Brazil's lengendary skater won the Silver medal in the Mega Ramp competition with an amazing show of big air mastery that scored him an almost
perfect 94.00 on his best run. San Diego's 16 year old Adam Taylor followed closely with a spectacular 3rd place finish in the Big Air
Competition
for the bronze. For full coverage of Bob's Mega ramp event, check out our

Also new to X Games this year was the Big Air Rail Jam in which Bob won a silver medal with 89 points, right behind gold medalist Danny Way.
And Leticia Bufoni, up and coming 15 year old street skater from Brazil placed 6th in the women's street
skating competition.
Congratulations to all of Sambazon's athletes for an amazing competition!

ATHLETE PROFILE /// Leticia Bufoni
Leticia is Brazil's youngest skateboarding phenomenon. At only 15, she's come to the
US to pursue the sport she loves and has already become one of the top skaters in contests across the country, including a recent 6th place finish in
the Summer X Games Street Skateboarding competition. She's a rockstar through and through with a great vibe and style. She tells us that she likes
"Sambazon açaí because it gives me energy to skateboard. I drink it everyday before I go to skate. And I love to make a bowl with banana
and
granola."
Keep a look out for her at next year's X games for sure.

The Hall family can't get enough of our sorbet, so much that Heather wrote in asking where she can find it in bulk!
"I love your acai sorbet and I would love to know how I can possibly buy it in bulk. My husband and two little daughters (4 and 2) and I could live
on that stuff but we go through it so quick I would love to be
able to buy a lot of it at once. Thanks for you help!! :)"

the Hip Hop Caucus have joined forces to create the Green
the Block initiative - to educate and mobilize low-income communities and communities of color to ensure a voice and stake in
the
clean-energy economy.

RECIPES /// Simply Scrumptios Sundown Sensation
This is definitely a dessert recipe for those days when you just want something a bit extravagant.
1 cup of Açaí juice
1 cup of sweet cream
2-3 large scoops of vanilla ice cream
1/2 cup of blueberries (fresh or frozen)
1/2 cup of dried cranberries (great for texture and doesn't get mushy like granola)
1 Pure Açaí Smoothie Pack
1 banana
2 tablespoons honey
Vanilla or Almond extract (depends on your preference)
Add some crushed ice and blend for about 20-30 seconds til it's still thick, but pourable ... add ice as you need to thicken and blend as needed.
Pour in tall chilled glasses, and top with any of the following:
1. granola and sliced banana
2. fresh cut fruit
3. shredded white chocolate
4. You can also add your favorite brand of Vodka

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH /// Greg Dunn, CFO
|
Greg is relatively new to the team, and has already made his mark as Sambazon's Chief Financial Officer responsible for everything finance. From
forecasting to evaluating current expenses, earnings and inventory, he's the man that's making sure Sambazon stays on sound financial footing.
Prior to Sambazon, Greg operated as the CFO of Paramount Farms Inc. and held numerous finance and accounting assignments with the Clorox Company and
Dial before that. Outside of being Sambazon's CFO, Greg finds time to spend with his two teenage boys who are active in soccer and track and his wife,
Maristela. From attending his son's events and making time to run, bike and get outside to throwing dinner parties, he's always up to something fun.
Greg tells us that his favorite part of working at Sambazon is that the "people here are open to new ideas and ways of looking at the business." And
he's adapted perfectly into the family - You can already find him with the rest of us, making a morning smoothie or bowl with the Sambazon Pure Packs!
