Q: I am a Celiac I cannot have gluten and I'm wondering if any of your products are safe for Celiacs? Also do you freeze dry your berries. Maybe I missed it on your site but didn't see how you process your products.

A: I'm happy to say that all of our products are gluten free : ) Our supplements are indeed freeze dried pulp. The rest of our products are made from frozen pulp. Click here to see our process, just click on the picture of our factory to see a fun tutorial!




EVENT /// Yoga Movement


We (the event team) have embarked on a new road, towards yoga and calming our usually frenzied, engaged, wonderfully busy minds. We’ve reached out to yoga events, classes and community congregations around the country. This fall and winter we donated to the National Yoga Month and Global Mala celebration in LA, co-funded a series of yoga classes with Nike 6.0, and participated in a host of community classes and events in Southern California, New York City and Florida. We recently met Yoga Gives Back – a great nonprofit that bridges the Western yoga community with those living under the poverty line in India, especially women, through Grameen Bank microfinancing.

Make sure to check out Yoga Gives Back for more information on the amazing work they do. We hope to share a yoga class with you in the future!

The Boston Bruins, beyond being an unparalleled force on the ice, are also becoming Sambazon Açaí addicts one by one. Sambazon Ambassadors team captain Zdeno Chara and defenseman Andrew Ference lead the team in poise and performance as they embark on another successful season.

Just announced, the Bruins will be playing in the third annual Winter Classic outdoor game at Fenway Park on Jan. 1, 2010 against the visiting Flyers. Fenway Park, the 97-year-old home of baseball’s Boston Red Sox, will be converted into a hockey rink for this unique New Years Day tradition that draws a good 40,000 fans each year. Make sure to check out this game, it will be a great one!

EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH /// John Hooper
Sambazon Employee John Hooper
John Hooper is our Northeast Regional Sales Manager. He manages all of Sambazon’s sales initiatives in the Grocery Channel for the Northeast Region. Before Sambazon he worked at M&M/Mars corporation and had a wonderful 16 plus year career, so he comes to Sambazon with incredible expertise in his field and has been charged with growing Sambazon’s distribution and brand awareness.

Outside of work, John’s family is his passion. He has three children - an 11 year old daughter Jillian and a 13 year old son Phillip who are both active in track and black belts in Taekwondo, and his oldest daughter Julie, who is a senior in college and plays basketball for Hobart and William Smith College. John’s been married for 24 years to his lovely wife Mary and they spend all of their free time running to one sporting event to another, completely loving it.

John tells us that his “favorite thing about being a part of Sambazon is three fold: I love the people, teamwork and the entrepreneurial spirit that drives us.”
