FEATURE STORY/// VOTE For The Next Warrior Of Change

After hashing through so many good applications that ranged from admirable ideas to projects already in motion, we settled on these top five. We’re inspired, and hope you are too.
1.Ruthi Solari’s Superfood Drive transforms food drives into providers of nutrient dense non-perishable superfoods to promote health and wellness to populations in need.
2.Emily Pilloton’s Studio H uses design and building to bring economic opportunity and creative capital to rural communities and their public school districts.
3.Joe Chisholm’s Waves of Action has created the Spread the Word campaign as a dynamic education and screening series to bring awareness and action for oceanic issues.
4.Michael Abbot’s One-Truck.org supports microlending, sanitation and orphan education projects in Port-Au-Prince, Haiti.
5.Nancy Massotto’s Holistic Moms Network generates national awareness, education and support for holistic parenting and green living through community networks.
Help choose the new Warrior of Change who will receive a $10,000 grant for positive change and
VOTE for one of the five finalists! (Voting deadline is this Friday January 21, 2010)

Q & A: ///
Q and A highlights standout inquiries from customers that we receive each month.
Q:You’ve said that Sambazon Original Açaí Juice is Low Glycemic, what does that mean?
A: The glycemic index (GI) is a ranking of carbohydrate foods (on a scale from 0 to 100) based on their effect on blood glucose levels after ingestion; low-GI foods are foods with a lesser glycemic effect meaning that they don’t raise blood sugar levels as high following consumption; high-GI foods are those with a greater glycemic effect. Foods with a high GI are those whose sugar is rapidly digested and absorbed resulting in marked fluctuations in blood sugar levels. Because low-GI foods produce more gradual rises in blood sugar and insulin levels they are perceived to be healthier for routine consumption.
