Natural
Products Expo Anaheim, CA

Dr.Perricone was the key-note speaker at the largest Natural
Products show in the US in late March. Companies from all
over the world came to show the latest and greatest in the
world or organic and sustainable products. After his speech
Dr.Perricone spent some time with us at the Sambazon booth
where we got to thank him for his help spreading the good
word about Acai as well discussing his involvement with Communidade
Mao Amiga, a non-profit organization in Brazil that helps
get children off the street and restore family life.

One
of our brothers has gone to a better place. The
following excerpts are from an article published
in the Denver Post -

The
former University of Colorado linebacker, who
devoured his 28 years in bold bites that took
him from snow caves to Brazilian beaches, drowned
Feb, 23 while swimming laps in a pool. That's
the news. But that's not the story.

continues later in the story...In late 2003, Southward
traveled to Brazil for what was supposed to be
a quick business trip. He stayed two months. The
excursion, friends say, changed him even more
deeply, showing him how little other people had,
yet how they still lived fully. He began sharing
more of his space and his time. During the Florida
hurricanes last year, Southward stayed behind
in his adopted town, New Smyrna Beach, then used
his own generator to restart his neighbor's refrigerators.
"Whatever
Brandon had, half of it was yours," [Ryan]
Black said. "No questions asked."

it goes on... An autopsy found that Southward
had a previously undiagnosed condition called
cardiomyopathy, an abnormal thickening of the
heart muscle. Dr. Patrick Tchou, a cardiologist
with the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio, said cardiomyopathy
is not uncommon as a cause of death in athletes.
We
were all blessed to have South in our lives. He
was one of the original Sambazon Warriors and
a true brother. We love you bro, thanks for you
inspiration. |

Organic
Food is better!

A team of European scientists has found in an experiment
that rats that ate organic food were much healthier
than those that ate conventional diets. The scientists
found that the organically-fed rats enjoyed several
health benefits, in that they slept better, had stronger
immune systems and were slimmer than rats fed conventional
diets.
