As the company who first brought açaí to America, we’ve learned a thing or two about the purple berry. Namely, that if we want to do right by you we need to keep the açaí in açaí.
Let us explain.
Because it’s relatively new to the U.S., açaí isn’t regulated the way, say, orange juice is. Here in the States you can’t just take 100% orange juice, dilute it with water and then call your product “orange juice”. Not cool (or legal).
But because there are no rules in place yet, some companies are selling “açaí juice” that is really just other fruit juices mixed with only a splash of açaí.
As the chart below illustrates, Sambazon Original Juice is all about keeping the açaí in the açaí. Two times more whole food açaí* than the next competitor, to be exact. Which means more powerful antioxidants, healthy omegas and delicious powers for you.

Now if you really want to geek out on the math, here’s a simple way to calculate how much açaí juice is in your “açaí juice”. Unlike most fruit juices, açaí is loaded with healthy omega fats. And whole food açaí juice contains at least 3 grams of fat per 8 ounce serving.** Which is on par with Sambazon Original Juice.
On the other hand, açaí brands such as Zola (1.5g), Genesis Today (1g), Bom Dia (0g) and Bossa Nova (0g) offer very little in the way of healthy omega fats and, therefore, fall far short in the açaí department.
Which brings us to the clever headline above. Our promise to you, as it’s been from day one, is real deal açaí. No stripping or diluting or smoke-and-mirrors. Just more açaí and more good, the way it should be.
Please feel free to email us at info@sambazon.com if you have any questions.

**According to the Brasilian Minister of Agriculture, “Açaí Juice” is defined as having at least 2.8% of açaí solids, and 2.8% açaí solids in 8oz of 100% “Açaí Juice” would deliver at least 3g of fats to a nutritional label.
