What is AÇAÍ?
Of the 200 superfoods found in the Amazon, Açaí is the most powerful. Packed with antioxidants, healthy omegas, and fiber, it’s no wonder this humble little berry has been a staple of indigenous diets for centuries. The video says it better than we can, hit play to learn more.
Almost No Sugar
Açaí is one of the only known fruits on the planet to have zero naturally occurring sugars while also having a powerful combination of antioxidants and healthy omega. And that deep purple color? It’s the same heart-healthy polyphenol antioxidants found in red wine. Even cooler? It’s got more antioxidants than both red wine and blueberries.
Açaí tastes like exotic berries meets dark chocolate and it’s refreshingly delicious. It’s also really creamy because of all those omegas. The best part, though? Since 90% of Açaí is actually inedible seed, all those omegas, antioxidants and healthy nutrients live in the thin, pulpy skin that surrounds the berry.
HOW AÇAÍ PROTECTS THE AMAZON
By making the forest more valuable standing than cut down, Açaí plays its role as part of the most biodiverse ecosystem on the planet. In essence, because the Açaí palms exist, they help to make the forest even more regenerative than it is. While there are a lot of ways to help protect the Amazon, we use Açaí as our force for change.
There is no one solution to save the Amazon Rainforest. A wide range of sustainable and effective initiatives are needed to keep the forest alive and this can only be achieved if the economic alternatives and solutions to destruction logging can be found…the dark violet juice of Açaí is the most important non-wood forest product in terms of money from the river delta of the Amazon
