Smoothie Ingredient Options

These two recipes are perfect for leveling up your typical acai smoothie

These recipes call for nut milk. A great choice for these smoothies are almond milk or coconut milk. If you're wanting to add in some healthy fats, the addition of peanut butter to the recipe is always an option.

If you don't have flax or chia seeds on hand, replace with hemp seeds for a good source of plant-based protein. You can enhance these recipes by adding non-dairy yogurt for a creamy texture. You can also add it to the side of the glass for a decorative touch.

Microgreens are also an ingredient for both of these recipes. If you've never heard of microgreens before, they may contain "antioxidants, vitamins, minerals, phenolic compounds, and more." Many people view them as a rising superfood with health benefits, so adding them to a smoothie is a great idea.

Açaí vs Dragonfruit (Pitaya)

Interested in learning more about the difference between açaí and dragonfruit? We've got you covered with the facts.

Both pitaya (Dragon fruit) and Açaí are tropical fruits that contain good-for-you nutrients. Where they differ comes down to their flavor, as well as how and where they grow. Pitaya has a light sweet taste, similar watermelon. You can easily compare the flavor to pears and kiwis.

Açaí comes off as a little more earthy, and tastes similar to blackberries mixed with unsweetened cocoa.

Pitaya grow in warm, humid climates such as Colombia, Ecuador, Guatemala, Mexico, Vietnam, Thailand, and China. They grow on climbing cacti vines. Their outer skin has "scales," which resembles a dragon, and are usually pink or yellow in color.

Açaí fruit mostly comes from the Amazon River Basin. Our Açaí comes straight from Brazil, but also grows in places such as Ecuador, Columbia, Chile, and Peru. Açaí grows on palm trees up to 30 meters high. They resemble blueberries with pits and have a thin skin.

Pitaya has added nutritional benefits to it, making it perfect for a smoothie. They contain macronutrients, vitamins and minerals.

Açaí is a superfood due to the nutrients it provides as well. Açaí berries contain healthy fats and carbohydrates. SAMBAZON Pure Açaí is also KETO-certified.

In the end, the choice comes down to your personal preference!
